Ownership and Partnership with VPP

Veterinary Practice Partners supports doctor-led hospitals. We do not rebrand your practice. Your hospital remains locally branded and reflective of your leadership.

As Medical Director, you may participate in a structured co-ownership model with meaningful equity and defined participation in performance and growth.

You lead the medicine. VPP provides operational, financial, HR, recruiting, and marketing support so you can focus on clinical excellence and team development.

VPP supports more than 190 hospitals nationwide and over 200 doctor partners, including more than 100 first-time veterinary owners.

Primary Medical Director ResponsibilitiesClinical Leadership
  • Establish and uphold medical standards and urgent care protocols
  • Lead effective case flow and clinical decision-making within an urgent care setting
  • Ensure high-quality patient care and clear client communication
  • Oversee medical record accuracy and charge capture
  • Identify and implement clinical service enhancements
Team and Practice Leadership
  • Support hiring and onboarding of veterinarians and support staff
  • Mentor associate veterinarians in urgent care workflows and triage best practices
  • Contribute to operational strategy and scheduling efficiency
  • Foster a collaborative, team-first culture
Financial Oversight
  • Drive revenue growth while maintaining medical excellence
  • Participate in annual planning and performance review
  • Support marketing and community engagement initiatives
Requirements
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent
  • Active Arizona veterinary license or ability to obtain
  • 3+ years clinical experience preferred
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
