Job Summary:
Veris AI is a technology company focused on building high-fidelity simulation environments for enterprise agents. They are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to strengthen their engineering team by building the simulation engine and app backend that power their platform.
Responsibilities:
• Design and code backend services in Python /FastAPI and data-store integrations (PostgreSQL, Redis, vector DBs).
• Implement and iterate on AI agents inside our sandboxes.
• Write tests, instrument metrics, and deploy code through CI/CD pipelines.
• Own cloud and DevOps tasks: IaC, container builds, monitoring, and cost tuning.
• Collaborate with research and product teams to deliver customer projects on tight schedules.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 3+ years of professional software development.
• 2+ years working on AI or ML-enabled applications.
• Proficiency with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and container orchestration.
• Experience with LLM tooling.
• Solid grasp of engineering best practices: code reviews, automated testing, observability.
• Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to work independently and unblock yourself.
Preferred:
• Experience with reinforcement learning, model training, or GPU infrastructure.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Terraform, or similar IaC stacks.
