Job Description
We are looking for a full-time Industrial Sales Representative to join our sales team in the San Francisco Bay Area. This role will focus on developing and managing business opportunities within the biotech, pharmaceutical, diagnostics, and life sciences industries.
The ideal candidate should have a strong Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) background, 1–3 years of business development or sales experience, and a proven ability to build and maintain customer relationships. This role requires someone self-motivated, detail-oriented, result-driven, and comfortable working closely with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Generation & Sales: Identify, develop, and manage new business opportunities to drive revenue growth and market expansion
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers. The ability to establish customer relationships is a must for this role
- Market Research: Conduct market analysis to identify trends, customer needs, competitors, and potential areas for growth
- Strategic Partnerships: Develop and manage partnerships with relevant stakeholders to support business development opportunities
- Negotiation & Contracting: Support pricing discussions, negotiations, and contract processes to maximize business outcomes
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, marketing, technical support, and product teams to align business development strategies with company objectives
- Performance Tracking: Monitor and report on sales activities, pipeline progress, customer engagement, and key business metrics
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or above in Cell & Molecular Biology, Genetics, Genomics, Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a related field
- NGS background is required
- 1–3 years of business development or sales experience in the biotech, life sciences, or related industries is required, with a proven ability to generate leads and close deals
- A proven ability to build and maintain customer relationships is required
- Strong understanding of the sales process and ability to identify customer needs
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
- Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
