Description
Are you ready to take your construction engineering career to the next level? Join our growing Mechanical Division as a Construction Project Engineer, where you'll play a critical role in shaping and supporting major projects across the Columbus region.
We're looking for a motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong organizational and communication skills to join our dynamic team and contribute to the successful execution of complex mechanical construction projects.
As a Construction Project Engineer, you will work closely with Project Managers and field staff to support the day-to-day execution of mechanical construction projects. You'll help ensure projects run smoothly, on time, and on budget by providing technical, administrative, and logistical support.
Duties:
  • Review and analyze design documents, contractor bids, and construction schedules
  • Provide on-site technical support to construction teams under the direction of the Project Manager
  • Maintain accurate time records and project documentation
  • Schedule and coordinate team meetings, site orientations, and progress updates
  • Monitor and report on construction activities and personnel attendance
  • Track material and equipment deliveries, inventory, and rental assets
  • Assist in reviewing RFIs, ASIs, bulletins, and coordination drawings
  • Prepare and maintain punch lists, closeout documents, and commissioning reports
  • Update BIM Box/Data Vault files and maintain digital project records
  • Draft project correspondence and assist with contract administration and change documentation
  • Participate in project coordination meetings and take detailed meeting minutes
What We're Looking For:
  • Experience or education in Mechanical Construction or Engineering (preferred)
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work on-site and collaborate effectively with diverse teams
  • Familiarity with construction documentation and project management tools
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive mindset

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Any combination or education and/or experience within the construction field that provides the required knowledge and abilities of a Project Engineer
  • Prefer completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or Mechanical/Electrical Engineer, or related field
