We are seeking a Lead Full-Stack Azure AI Engineer with 8+ years of professional software engineering experience to architect and build secure, enterprise-grade Generative AI solutions for our healthcare client. This is a true end-to-end role requiring comprehensive expertise in developing Python-based AI microservices on Microsoft Azure and engineering production-ready, interactive frontends using Angular. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of healthcare compliance standards (HIPAA, HITRUST) and deep production experience with Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, and secure RAG pipelines.

Job Logistics & Location

• Type: Full-Time / Contract-to-Hire
• Location: Dallas, TX (Hybrid - 3 days onsite weekly required)
• Interview Process: Must be available for a mandatory Face-to-Face (F2F) interview in Dallas.
• Work Authorization: USC, GC, or H1-B only. Must be willing to work on Varant Inc. W2. (No OPT/CPT candidates will be considered).

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End AI Engineering: Architect and develop production-grade GenAI features, taking full ownership of the pipeline from the Angular UI down to the Python backend infrastructure.
• Healthcare RAG Architecture: Build secure Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines using Azure AI Search to ground models in complex, unstructured clinical datasets.
• Compliant AI Interfaces: Design and maintain responsive, patient- or clinician-facing dashboards and chat interfaces utilizing modern Angular (TypeScript).
• Secure Backend Services: Build robust, highly performant RESTful APIs in Python (FastAPI or Flask) for LLM orchestration, complex agent workflows, and data sanitization.
• Data Security & Governance: Implement rigorous data privacy workflows, including automated Protected Health Information (PHI) de-identification and Responsible AI content filtering.
• LLMOps & Monitoring: Set up CI/CD pipelines to manage model deployments, prompt iteration, and latency while tracking token spend and tracking against model hallucinations.

Technical Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: 8+ years of professional full-stack software development experience (Backend + Frontend + Cloud).
• Healthcare Domain Knowledge: Hands-on experience building software under strict HIPAA compliance frameworks. Familiarity with healthcare data standards (e.g., FHIR, HL7) is highly preferred.
• AI & Cloud Stack: Extensive experience with Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI Service, Azure Machine Learning, and Azure AI Search.
• Backend Frameworks: Master-level proficiency in Python for backend business logic, API building, and data engineering.
• Frontend Frameworks: Strong, production-level mastery of Angular (v14+ preferred) and TypeScript for heavy enterprise UI workflows.
• AI Orchestration: Practical development using LangChain, Semantic Kernel, or agentic frameworks like AutoGen/crewAI.
• Databases & Vector Stores: Experience with vector data indexing and management in cloud environments (e.g., Azure Cosmos DB, Pinecone).
