This role is ideal for an engineer who can independently produce complete electrical design packages, mentor junior engineers, and work directly with clients, utilities, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop complete electrical design packages for commercial and utility-scale solar PV projects.
  • Produce high-quality construction drawings, single-line diagrams, and supporting design documentation.
  • Coordinate directly with clients, utilities, and AHJs to resolve technical comments and defend engineering decisions.
  • Perform electrical system studies and PV system modeling using industry-standard software.
  • Review project designs for code compliance, constructability, and quality.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance throughout the design process.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects are delivered on schedule.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience designing ground-mounted solar PV systems, preferably commercial-scale.
  • Proven ability to independently deliver complete electrical design packages from concept through final issuance.
  • Experience serving as the engineer responsible for final design submissions to clients and AHJs.
  • Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, ETAP, and PVsyst.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present and defend technical decisions.
