4C2 Electrical Associates is a full-service electrical and industrial contractor providing installation, maintenance, and project support to commercial, industrial, and utility clients. We're looking for an HR Benefits Coordinator to support that program and our team's overall benefits experience.

About the Role

The HR Benefits Coordinator supports the day-to-day administration of 4C2's employee benefits programs, including our self-insured (self-funded) medical plan covering approximately 120 enrolled employees. Reporting to the Director of Finance & Administration and working as part of a three-person HR team, this role handles routine plan administration, employee support, and vendor coordination, while the Director owns overall plan strategy, funding decisions, and renewal negotiations. This role is a strong fit for a benefits professional who already has hands-on exposure to a self-funded medical plan and is ready to put that experience to work supporting a growing program.

Requirements

• Support day-to-day administration of the company's self-funded medical plan, including eligibility, enrollment, plan documents, and employee questions.
• Promote employee awareness and utilization of supplemental programs available under the self-funded medical plan (e.g., Cancer Care, Health Joy, Valenz Health, and First Stop Health), including communications, education, and ongoing employee engagement.
• Serve as a day-to-day point of contact with the third-party administrator (TPA) and stop-loss carrier for routine claims coordination and reporting, escalating larger issues to the Director.
• Help track claims experience and plan performance, and assist the Director with data gathering for budgeting, funding, and cost-trend analysis.
• Coordinate annual open enrollment activities — employee communications, system updates, and logistics — under the direction of the Director.
• Administer ancillary benefits (dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary benefits).
• Support administration of the company's 401(k) retirement plan, including employee enrollment, contribution elections, and coordination with the plan recordkeeper.
• Manage COBRA administration, HIPAA compliance, and required benefits notices and filings (e.g., ACA reporting, Form 5500, SPDs), with guidance from the Director on complex filings.
• Administer leave programs, including FMLA and related state/company leave policies, in coordination with HR leadership.
• Serve as the primary point of contact between HR and the payroll department, communicating benefit deduction changes, 401(k) contribution updates, and employee file changes needed for accurate and timely payroll processing.
• Respond to employee questions regarding benefits eligibility, claims issues, and plan provisions with a high level of service and confidentiality.
• Support benefits audits, nondiscrimination testing, and compliance reviews.
• Assist the Director in gathering data and preparing materials for broker and consultant discussions on plan design and renewals.

Safety Sensitive

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2-3+ years of experience in benefits administration, with exposure to and hands-on experience working within a self-funded/self-insured medical plan (required).
• Experience assisting with or coordinating TPA and stop-loss carrier communications for claims and reporting (required).Working knowledge of ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, and other compliance requirements associated with administering employee benefits (required).
• Proficiency with HRIS/payroll systems and standard office software; specific system experience with Paycom a plus.
• Comfortable working with data and spreadsheets to help track claims and utilization information.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the discretion required to handle sensitive employee health and financial information.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple vendor relationships and deadlines simultaneously.
• Experience in construction, electrical, or industrial trades environments is a plus but not required.

Salary range: $60,000 to $65,000 annually, commensurate with experience. This role reports to the Director and is part of a three-person HR team supporting a self-funded medical plan with approximately 130 enrolled employees.
