Position Overview

Valence Counseling Services is seeking a skilled and passionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our remote team, providing outpatient mental health services. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations for new clients and facilitate ongoing therapy sessions, including individual, couples, and group therapy.
  • Develop and implement client-centered treatment plans based on thorough clinical assessments, tailored to meet the specific needs and goals of each patient.
  • Provide evidence-based therapy utilizing modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and trauma-informed care.
  • Maintain meticulous and accurate documentation in compliance with both clinic and state regulations to support clinical accountability and continuity of care.
  • Engage in regular supervision and clinical meetings to enhance personal and professional growth, while fostering an atmosphere of collaboration and support.
  • Adhere to ethical guidelines and licensing requirements, ensuring the highest standards of care and professionalism.
  • Support a diverse client population, demonstrating cultural competence and sensitivity towards clients' varying backgrounds, including issues related to race, gender, and socioeconomic status.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you'll work with clients from a wide spectrum of backgrounds, including those facing mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. Our clinic is dedicated to serving marginalized communities and ensuring equitable access to care for all clients, including LGBTQIA+ individuals. Your empathetic, person-centered approach will be vital in empowering clients on their paths to recovery and personal growth.

Qualifications
  • Current license as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the State of New York is a mandatory requirement.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, or a related mental health field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in mental health counseling, preferably in an outpatient or private practice setting.
  • Familiarity with a range of evidence-based therapeutic modalities and techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong ability to document clinical information accurately and comprehensively.
  • Demonstrated success in working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals.
  • Commitment to culturally sensitive practices and an understanding of the unique needs of diverse populations.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with telehealth services and virtual counseling platforms.
  • Background in working with clients experiencing trauma and implementing trauma-informed care practices.
  • Knowledge of the latest trends and developments in mental health treatment.
  • Engagement in professional development and continuing education activities.
Compensation and Benefits

Valence Counseling Services offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $90,000 per year, along with a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your health and well-being.
