UPA was founded in 1997 and currently employs more than 1,000 full-time service men and women serving utilities across the country. UPA prides itself on excellence in operations, safe work practices, quality control, customer service and schedule management that maximizes customer satisfaction.
Utility Partners of America (UPA) is seeking highly motivated and safety-conscious individuals to join its team. We will be exchanging utility meters in theSchenectady, New Yorkarea. This is a great opportunity to learn a trade and join a growing company with strong values, offering a competitive compensation package and a full suite of health and welfare benefits. All new hires will be given paid training, uniforms, quality tools, a full complement of PPE, a company phone, and a company vehicle. Previous experience in meter installation /utility work is not required but is certainly preferred.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must consent to a drug test, background check and motor vehicle records check
- Must be able to lift to 40lbs.; able to walk long distances.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work; and able to maintain consistent attendance on required workdays.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work alone 90% of the time while still being part of a local team.
- Must be able to work with basic hand tools, handheld electronic devices; able to work outdoors and withstand the regional seasonal weather.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safely and efficiently upgrade utility Electric meters
- Follow standard operating procedures and company policies.
- Read electric utility meters and record information accurately.
- Communicate with utility customers effectively.
- Drive company supplied work vehicle safely.
- Receive and return utility meters, tools, equipment, and supplies.
