Position Description
Quality Enterprises is looking for a Utility Foreman and Utility Crew to join our team. The Utility Foreman is responsible for leading and working alongside utility crews in the installation and replacement of sanitary, sewer, storm, and pressure pipe systems. In addition to directing the work of the utility crew, the Utility Foreman operates heavy equipment and performs any tasks necessary to ensure that work is completed on time, within budget, and with the highest standards of quality.

Position Requirements
Essential Responsibilities:

  • Communicate regularly with the General Utility Superintendent to provide feedback concerning operation efficiency, personnel performance, and job progression.
  • Monitor all job site activities, ensuring that work is performed according to plans with the highest level of quality.
  • Operate heavy equipment including excavators and loaders.
  • Provide careful oversite of utility crew to ensure job site safety, quality work, and employee morale.
  • Perform manual tasks as necessary to keep the work moving forward according to schedule.
  • Monitor crew attendance and punctuality.
  • Maintain clean and organized jobsite.
  • Work alongside the crew by operating heavy equipment including excavators and loaders and performing any tasks necessary to keep the work moving forward according to schedule.
  • Assist with unloading and checking of supplies.
  • Enforce the Company's safety policies, ensuring that the crew is well hydrated and safe.
  • Refer qualified crew candidates to the General Utility Superintendent to be considered for employment.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid Class E Florida driver license with acceptable driving record required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience as Pipe Foreman required.
  • Five years of overall construction experience preferred.
  • Experience with sanitary, water, sewer, storm, and/or pressure pipe replacement required.
  • Experience with heavy equipment operation required with deep excavation experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of a wide variety of hand and power tools and equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand work plans and specifications.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills required.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to work with exposure to moderate to loud noise levels.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be willing and able to travel to remote jobsites for extended periods of time; this role may require out-of-state travel.
  • Occasional evening, weekend, and emergency work may be required.
