Upstream Musculoskeletal Therapy, located in the scenic town of Appomattox, Virginia, is seeking a skilled and compassionate Orthopedic Physical Therapist to join our dedicated team. Work Environment

The rehabilitation facility at Upstream Musculoskeletal Therapy provides a supportive and collaborative environment for our therapists. Our onsite setting fosters direct interaction with patients, allowing for immediate assessments and adjustments to treatment plans based on real-time feedback. Flexibility in work hours is encouraged to meet both patient and therapist needs, with scheduling available Monday through Friday.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments of patients recovering from orthopedic injuries, surgeries, or chronic conditions to develop effective and individualized treatment plans.
• Utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and modalities to relieve pain and restore functionality.
• Regularly track and record patient progress through detailed documentation, adjusting treatment approaches based on individual responses to therapy.
• Reevaluate and refine treatment goals in collaboration with patients and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest level of care and achievement of therapeutic milestones.
• Educate patients and their families about rehabilitation processes, ensuring they understand exercises, use of assistive devices, and self-care techniques to maximize recovery.
• Stay current with advancements in the field through ongoing professional development activities, such as workshops, conferences, and participation in professional associations.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work primarily with patients who are recovering from orthopedic conditions, including post-surgical rehabilitation, sports injuries, and chronic musculoskeletal disorders. Our clientele ranges in age and physical capability, allowing you to apply a wide breadth of therapeutic practices. Each patient interaction is an opportunity to make a significant impact on their recovery journey, promoting mobility and enhancing quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy is required, with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy preferred.
• Current State License to practice Physical Therapy in Virginia.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Proficiency in using electronic health records and basic computer software for documentation and reporting.
• A flexible mindset, with a proactive approach to adapting treatment plans based on patient needs and progress.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in an orthopedic or rehabilitation setting is beneficial but not required.
• Familiarity with documentation and treatment planning regulations and standards is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits
