Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients’ physical conditions, analyzing their mobility, strength, and functional capabilities.

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that incorporate various therapeutic methods, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and modalities to address pain relief and mobility enhancement.

  • Track patient progress through regular evaluations, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to meet the evolving needs and goals of each patient.

  • Educate patients and their families on home exercises, therapeutic techniques, and safe use of assistive devices to promote independence and long-term rehabilitation success.

  • Document patient treatments and progress within our electronic health record system, ensuring adherence to legal and professional standards.

  • Participate in team meetings to discuss patient care strategies and improve our service delivery.

  • Stay current with developments in the field by attending relevant workshops, engaging with peers in professional settings, and reviewing contemporary literature in physical therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist at Upstream Musculoskeletal Therapy, you will work predominantly with adult and geriatric patients who are recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions. Your expertise will be critical in helping these individuals regain strength, mobility, and confidence, ultimately allowing them to return to their daily activities and improve their quality of life.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy is required. A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is preferred and will be advantageous in providing advanced treatment.

  • A valid state license in Physical Therapy.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with proficiency in electronic documentation and basic computer applications.

  • Applicants should possess a flexible and agile approach to treatment, adapting to the varying needs of patients throughout their rehab journeys.

Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience in orthopedic physical therapy is beneficial but not mandatory, as we also encourage new graduates who are eager to learn and grow within our organization.

  • Familiarity with modalities such as ultrasound or electrical stimulation for therapeutic use.
