The ideal candidate will be an academically oriented clinician who excels in both patient care and teaching of house staff and fellows with a strong interest in clinical or translational research. There is strong financial backing and commitment from the university to achieve its educational, research, and clinical care missions.**ABOUT THE POSITION**The appropriate candidate will have clinical interests in consultative and outpatient EP care and expertise in all aspects of clinical cardiac electrophysiology, including implantable devices, mapping, and complex ablations. Excellent opportunities for collaborative research exist with the state-of-the-art facilities at the Institute of Molecular Cardiology. Applicants must possess or be eligible for Kentucky licensure and qualify for a faculty position of Assistant Professor or higher. There are leadership opportunities and directorships available for qualified individuals.UofL's Cardiology Division has a robust academic department consisting of specialists in all subdivisions of cardiology, including electrophysiology, interventional and structural cardiology, heart failure and transplant/mechanical device support, ECMO, cardio-oncology, preventive cardiology, advanced imaging, and complex cardiac and aortic/vascular surgery.Research initiatives are encouraged, and candidates will be expected to establish an academic portfolio and an area of expertise. Fellow and resident education is an integral component of the job.
