Upper School Teacher
University Christian School
University Christian School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Upper School Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate is committed to academic excellence, spiritual development, and building meaningful relationships with students in a Christ-centered learning environment.
Position Summary
The Upper School Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging, standards-based instruction for students in grades 9-12. This role supports students' academic growth, character development, and preparation for future success while integrating biblical truth and Christian values into daily instruction.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver effective, engaging lessons aligned with curriculum standards
  • Create a positive, structured, and supportive classroom environment
  • Assess and monitor student progress using a variety of evaluation methods
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance
  • Communicate regularly and professionally with parents, students, and administration
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum development and school initiatives
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events
  • Model Christ-like character and uphold the mission and values of University Christian School
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required (subject-area degree preferred)
  • Teaching certification preferred (or willingness to pursue certification)
  • Experience teaching middle school or high school students preferred
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Commitment to Christian education and ability to integrate faith into teaching
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Physical & Work Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, and engage with students throughout the school day
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
  • Classroom, campus, and event-based responsibilities
