Role Description The Mortgage Loan Originator is a full-time, remote role responsible for guiding borrowers through the mortgage application and approval process from initial contact to closing. Day-to-day tasks include prospecting and cultivating leads, conducting borrower consultations, collecting and reviewing financial documentation, and recommending appropriate loan products based on individual needs and eligibility. The role involves preparing and submitting complete loan files, coordinating with underwriting and processing teams, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. The Mortgage Loan Originator also maintains ongoing communication with clients, real estate partners, and other stakeholders to provide status updates, address questions, and support a timely, accurate closing experience. This position requires proactive pipeline management, accurate recordkeeping, and adherence to performance and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in Loan Origination and Mortgage Lending, with the ability to guide borrowers through the full mortgage process.
• Solid understanding of Underwriting and Loans, including documentation requirements, risk assessment, and regulatory guidelines.
• Foundational knowledge of Finance and financial analysis related to income, assets, credit, and debt-to-income ratios.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex information in clear, accessible terms.
• Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple files, and meet deadlines and production goals.
• High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and commitment to ethical, compliant lending practices.
• Prior experience as a Mortgage Loan Originator or in a related lending role preferred; current NMLS license or eligibility to obtain one is strongly beneficial.
• Familiarity with loan origination systems (LOS) and CRM tools; proficiency in basic office software and digital communication platforms.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field is a plus.
