Job description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing, maintaining and adjusting all machinery and equipment in a safe manner within the plant. He or she also troubleshoots problems dealing with machines. In addition, he or she is responsible for any other task the Maintenance Supervisor deems necessary.

This will be a 2nd shift position, Monday - Friday from 3:00pm - 11:30pm. Occasional overtime may be required.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform facility maintenance including basic plumbing, HVAC, and electrical.
  • Diagnose forklift issues and breakdowns, obtain technical and parts information to repair industrial equipment
  • Repair and maintain all plant machinery and equipment such as mixers, production equipment, etc.
  • Adjust and replace parts in machines or equipment
  • Inspect all machinery and equipment
  • Order parts for machinery and equipment
  • Fabricate new equipment when needed
  • Install any equipment needed
  • Train new Maintenance Technicians
  • Complete unscheduled downtime records
  • Perform total productive maintenance (TPM) tasks as scheduled and understands actions to take when the TPM schedule cannot be met.
  • Lock and unlock plant, verifying that all equipment and water /steam sources are turned off during lock up procedure
  • Maintain a clean work area
  • Understands the importance of Universal Waste Recycling and follows the procedures in EMS category 8.0 for Battery, Oils, and fluorescent Lamp recycling.
  • Reduce utility consumption
  • Submit new and/or reactivated gages and calibration standards to Gage Control
  • May be responsible for handling hazardous waste
  • Perform Lockout -Tagout
  • Consult the Maintenance Supervisor to determine critical spare parts for any new or modified equipment
  • Consult affected team members at all locations on any new, repaired, modified equipment, process so similar equipment/ processes are also considered.
  • Send email to other maintenance shifts at that facility of any Down Time on Equipment concerns when possible
  • Knows how to locate and use the maintenance guides on the Uniseal Intranet.
  • React to emergency response actions as specified in the Emergency Action Plan

Education:

High School Diploma

Experience:

  • 2 years of Maintenance experience required
  • Manufacturing and/or production experience preferred
