Job description

Job Responsibilities/Function:
  • Train, evaluate and develop team members.
  • Conduct daily shift meetings to communicate relevant information to team members. Act as key interface between senior management and production team members.
  • Cross train team members to ensure a flexible, motivated work force.
  • Conduct and document disciplinary actions where needed, address attendance, performance, behavioral or other code of conduct violations.
  • Verify the readiness of the production line at start-up and supervise change-overs.
  • Start 30 minutes before shift to co-ordinate activities with outgoing Supervisor.
  • Ensure the line is cleared of all product and packaging materials from the previous run.
  • Ensure correct and legible bottle, case and pallet coding at all times. Check at shift start and all product changeovers and train team members to perform ongoing checks throughout the shift.
  • Conduct or supervise required sanitation procedures (CIP, Kosherization, External Foaming and Sanitizing) to minimize downtime and ensure adherence to quality requirements.
  • Monitor the production process, make periodic checks and adjust equipment or work practices to maximize production efficiency, yields, quality and safety. Accurately report production and ensure operator reports are completed as required.
  • Manage overall package and product quality to ensure all standards and specifications are met. Monitor product and packaging yields and takes corrective action where needed, to minimize all waste.
  • Ensure equipment in the area assigned is clean, in working order and that working conditions are safe at all times. Assign work to mechanics. Document equipment and facility maintenance requests for work that cannot be immediately assigned to a mechanic.
  • Manage within labor standards and identify opportunities for cost reduction. Coordinate the fair assignment of daily work-schedules and days off to minimize use of double-time.
  • Manage line efficiencies and down time. Accurately maintain Daily Efficiency Reports and Production Reports. Understand the “root cause” of all downtime and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure that all required operator reports are accurately completed and submitted at the end of the shift.
  • Communicate effectively at all times and especially the end of the shift to ensure effective hand-off.
  • Conduct security checks as required. Monitor all plant entrances and secured areas (water rooms, ingredient cage and cooler, offices and plant entrance) to ensure security is maintained.
  • Follow GMP’s, Food Safety Guidelines and Safety Rules in Manufacturing Facility.
  • Report any urgent Quality or Food Safety Incident to Responsible Personnel.

  • Able to Work in Team-Oriented Environment.
  • Must have a flexible schedule and able to work weekends.
