Job description

The Engagement Coordinator is responsible for inviting sponsors to more deeply engage with the Unbound community by volunteering at Catholic parishes and other events. Working in a team environment, the Engagement Coordinator must be able to communicate enthusiasm for the work we do and be persuasive in their approach. Communicates primarily by email but also utilizes phone and mail; this individual will recruit, encourage and support supporters of Unbound.

This position provides personalized service to supporters and members of the Unbound community. Responsible for ensuring engagement communities are successful and provide quality experience to all involved.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Recruit and train sponsor volunteers for Weekend Assignments and other outreach events
  • Maintain and update all training materials and processes for sponsor volunteers for Weekend Assignments and other outreach events
  • Communicate effectively with the Catholic priests who serve as Unbound preachers and other presenters
  • Suggest improvements to processes regarding sponsor volunteers at Weekend Assignments and other outreach events
  • Provide excellent customer service and support by phone, email and other communication methods to our sponsors, sponsor volunteers, and preachers
  • Ensure reporting of key performance indicators for sponsor volunteers at Weekend Assignments and other outreach events
  • Recommend additional measurements for assessment of the Weekend Assignment volunteer program
  • Utilize data, key performance indicators, and feedback from preachers and sponsor volunteers to improve the Weekend Assignment volunteer program
  • Assist in the planning and execution of virtual and in person gatherings of Unbound priests, sponsor presentations, and other engagement events
  • Serve as the primary backup for the Outreach Support Specialist

  • High school diploma or equivalent. For-profit and non-profit experience preferred. Global experience is a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience in strategic relationship management, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Moderate to advanced computer skills in a Windows environment, including Microsoft Office Suite and customer relationship management systems.
  • Able to quickly establish credibility and build rapport to be recognized as a leader and expert.
  • Self-starter, action oriented. Influential and collaborative communication style.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and effectively manage and prioritize tasks.
  • Must possess a positive attitude and be open to new ideas with the ability to listen carefully, try new things, suggest alternatives, and solve challenges.
  • Strong accuracy and organizational skills.
  • Energetic, self-starter who demonstrates a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English or other relevant languages is preferred.
