UME Preparatory Academy
Position Summary
UME Preparatory Academy is seeking dependable, flexible, and professional individuals to serve as Campus Support Substitutes. This position provides temporary support to various campus departments and staff members when regular employees are absent or additional coverage is needed.
Campus Support Substitutes may be assigned to assist with a variety of campus operations, including student supervision, front office support, arrival and dismissal, cafeteria support, campus monitoring, clerical duties, and other school-based responsibilities.
Assignments and responsibilities may vary based on the needs of the campus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide temporary coverage and support for campus staff as assigned.
  • Assist with student supervision and monitoring throughout the school day.
  • Support campus arrival, dismissal, transitions, and other student movement activities.
  • Assist with maintaining a safe, orderly, and welcoming campus environment.
  • Provide support to the front office and administrative staff as needed.
  • Assist with clerical, organizational, and general campus duties.
  • Support cafeteria, recess, hallway, or other campus activities as assigned.
  • Follow directions and procedures provided by campus administrators and supervisors.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student, employee, and school information.
  • Communicate professionally and respectfully with students, staff, parents, and visitors.
  • Follow all UME Preparatory Academy policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance for scheduled assignments.
  • Perform other campus support duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a school, childcare, customer service, administrative, or related environment is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with students and staff.
  • Ability to follow instructions and adapt to changing assignments and campus needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Dependable, punctual, professional, and able to work independently when appropriate.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment.
  • Must successfully complete all required background checks and onboarding requirements.

Work Environment
The Campus Support Substitute may work in various areas throughout the school campus, including classrooms, offices, hallways, cafeteria, outdoor areas, and other school facilities. The position may require frequent standing, walking, and interaction with students and staff.
Work Schedule
This is an as-needed substitute position. Work schedules and hours will vary based on campus needs, employee absences, and available assignments. Substitute assignments are not guaranteed from day to day.
Compensation
Compensation will be based on the applicable UME Preparatory Academy substitute pay rate.
