Buchanan Marine LP is looking for a similarly minded, career-driven individual with a strong work ethic and stable sea legs who is comfortable working and living aboard our tugs for two weeks at a time (followed by two weeks off).

This is a Union position aboard the Tug Alexandra and Dredge Eleanor. An ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate strong leadership qualities, be eager to learn, and have a career mentality. Since our company prefers to grow from within, our Captains are promoted from our Mates. General Expectations

As a Mate, you will work and live aboard the Tug Alexandra and Dredge Eleanor during your on-hitch period (2 weeks on / 2 weeks off). Basic expectations and responsibilities include navigating, towing operations, basic computer literacy, and general good seamanship.

• TWIC
• MMC with Medical Certificate
  • Mate of Towing Near Coastal or Oceans
  • Radar Endorsement
• Valid Driver’s License
