Job description
Role Overview
As the Senior Mobile Development Engineer, you'll be accountable for developing and implementing new features, enhancing the existing functionality of applications, and building new applications from the ground up.
On a day to day basis, you will participate in all aspects of agile software development including design, implementation and deployment. While primarily working on Android and IOS development kits, you will be building full stack solutions for seamless end to end applications. Working with and directing teammates, your knowledge and experience will be invaluable assets to help set industry standards for major projects.
Responsibilities
- Design high-quality mobile application architecture
- Identify, prioritize and execute tasks in the software development life cycle
- Develop tools and applications by producing clean, efficient code
- Prioritize test first development
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to fix and improve product
- Optimize current applications for scalability and mass distribution
- Build develop new features for our applications
- Work with our database engineer to connect front and back end application systems
- Work with the hardware team to build seamless communication between physical modules and web applications
Basic Qualifications
- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience
- Experience building an application from ground up
- Extensive knowledge of application architecture and view models
- Experience developing in Android Studio, XCode, and/or similar IDEs
- Highly motivated individual who has the drive to learn new things
- Strong collaboration skills and a team player
- Proficiency in major app development languages
- Java/Kotlin
- Swift
- Javascript
Desired Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or similar discipline
- Experience working with Google Maps and/or similar mapping APIs
- Extensive knowledge of mobile device specs and technological capabilities
- Knowledge of Python and/or NoSQL
- Realm or equivalent experience with non-relational or mobile databases
About Us
Our team is currently 25 members strong. We currently have two offices, one in UIUC’s Research Park and the other in the heart of Chicago’s Fulton Market. Our Chicago office is located in an old Chicago Fire Dispatch Center, and includes free street parking, access to a gym on site, and a coffee shop. This office is conveniently located near public transportation which includes access to the green, pink, and blue lines as well as various bus stops. You will also receive the following benefits:
