Job description

About URBN Design Group

URBN Design Group is a full-service civil engineering, architectural design, and owner's representation firm based in Miami Shores, Florida. Our team delivers land development projects across South Florida — multifamily, retail, self-storage, flex warehouse, restaurant, and office — and our in-house permit expediting and deep relationships with local municipalities mean our engineers see projects through from concept to approval. This is a firm where you'll work directly with leadership, own your projects, and grow fast.

The Role

We're looking for a Civil Engineer with 2+ years of land development experience to join our Land Development team and take on site development engineering and project management for residential and commercial projects.

You'll handle a variety of site designs and carry real project ownership — this role is open to fully remote, hybrid, or in-office candidates.

What You'll Do
  • Site civil design for a wide range of land development projects — site layout, grading, drainage, stormwater management, and utility design
  • Project management: coordinating consultants, tracking deliverables, and keeping projects on schedule
  • Permitting for land disturbance and coordination with municipalities and regulatory agencies
  • Research, cost estimating, and preparation of bid packages and technical specifications
  • Staff coordination and mentoring of junior team members as you grow into the role
Requirements
  • BS degree in Civil Engineering
  • 2+ years of relevant land development engineering experience
  • High level of proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Nice to Have

  • EI certification or progress toward PE licensure
  • Detailed site layout and grading; drainage and stormwater management design; utility design; erosion and sediment control design
  • StormCAD, HydroFlow, ICPR, and development of hydrology studies
  • Experience with Florida codes and regulations, interpreting plans, designing stormwater facilities, and permitting for land disturbance
  • Familiarity with South Florida municipalities and permitting processes

Compensation & Benefits

  • $60,000–$140,000 annually, commensurate with experience and whether you are local or remote
  • Health Insurance, 3 weeks annual PTO and Holidays
  • Flexible work arrangement: remote, hybrid, or in-office at our Miami Shores location
  • Direct access to firm leadership and a clear path for professional growth, including PE licensure support
  • Diverse project portfolio across commercial, residential, and industrial land development
