Job description

We are looking for a visual merchandising designer to partner with our luxury beauty client. The designer of VM creative is a highly collaborative, Visual Merchandising role designed for an ambitious designer ready to translate luxury brand DNA into immersive physical and digital retail destinations. Working within the Omni Creative framework and reporting into a Director, you will adapt and scale global designs into local retail footprints, concept 3D displays, manage project budgets, deliver DTO specs, and coordinate with vendors to ensure your designs are flawlessly executed in-store while collaborating directly with Marketing and Creative Ops. This role balances creative visual design with end-to-end operational execution. This role operates in a hybrid model with several days per week onsite at our client in midtown Manhattan.

You will be responsible for:

Planogram & Directive Formatting: Assist in compiling, formatting, and organizing in-store quarterly visual merchandising guidelines, quarterly flagship guidelines, and new store opening guidelines, including new graphics/ transparency / video asset orders for new doors.

Creative Design & Layouts: Specializing in scaling global luxury assets down to fit diverse, localized US marketing strategies and retailer requirements, concept and design 3D in-store displays, holiday animations, and graphic layouts.

Cross Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Brand Marketing, Trade Marketing and Creative Ops managers to ensure visual designs answer localized campaign briefs, launch timelines and retailer requirements. Close collaboration with Field Teams to ensure excellence in in-store merchandising and VM maintenance / replacements.

Design Turn Overs (DTOs) Packaging: Author and package detailed DTO specifications including complex dimensions, localized die-lines, and detailed material callouts for manufacturing handoff.

End-to-End Project Admin : Manage the full operational lifecycle of your assigned projects including sharing project progression with key stake holders for approval, maintaining strict timelines, tracking individual project budgets, and managing vendor development / production to deliver designs within project allocations.

VM Maintenance: ordering & stock tracking; ordering replacements/missing elements, coordinating with the field teams + trade marketing on replacements, PO and estimate tracking.

Vendor Coordination & Local Installs: Directly coordinate with print, production and installation vendors, request vendor fabrication quotes, manage print proofs, review prototypes, and supervise local visual installation ensuring luxury-grade execution. Own professional photography shoot end-to-end process of key projects used to showcase brand executions for global review.

Meeting & Administrative Support: Support the VM team on Store Prep (IMM), Reporting & photo Documentation of NY metro stores 2 x monthly.

Requirements

Professional Experience: 4–7+ years of experience in visual merchandising, luxury retail design,

Software & Technical Skills: Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and 3D design software (SketchUp)

Career Growth mindset: Creative drive to transition from executing guidelines to developing original 3D spatial concepts.

Organizational Prowess: Proactive and strong ability to multi-task, manage multiple production deadlines, and coordinate vendor deliverables.

Benefits

The anticipated salary range for this role is $70,000 - $85,000 annually. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience, and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
