Tryst Hotels is redefining boutique hospitality with luxury gay hotels that combine design, energy, inclusivity, and unforgettable guest experiences. As new properties open and existing ones are renovated, Tryst is looking for skilled traveling carpenters who can help shape hospitality environments that feel both polished and full of personality. (Tryst Hotels)

This full-time traveling carpenter role supports hotel renovation projects across Tryst locations in the U.S. You will perform a broad range of carpentry tasks in active remodel settings, helping deliver quality finishes, practical solutions, and dependable craftsmanship. The role is best suited for someone adaptable, efficient, and comfortable with fast-changing priorities, rotating travel schedules, and hospitality spaces built for LGBTQ+ guests and nightlife experiences. Sean identified carpenter hiring as one of the most immediate priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform framing, blocking, trim, finish, repair, and general carpentry work
  • Install doors, hardware, millwork, wall protection, and other finish components
  • Repair and modify existing conditions during hotel remodels
  • Take field measurements and adjust work based on site realities
  • Support layout, punch work, and final detail completion
  • Coordinate with drywall, plumbing, HVAC, flooring, and labor crews
  • Maintain safe work practices and jobsite cleanliness
  • Help keep projects moving on tight renovation schedules
Qualifications
  • Strong hands-on carpentry experience in residential or commercial remodel work
  • Finish carpentry skills are a major plus
  • Ability to work independently and solve problems in the field
  • Comfortable traveling throughout the U.S. for project rotations
  • Open to flexible schedules, including nights, early starts, or long shifts when needed
  • Professional attitude and full comfort working in LGBTQ+ hospitality environments
  • Able to read basic plans and follow scope details
  • Reliable, team-oriented, and quality-minded
Pay and Benefits
  • Pay: $30-$40/hour, depending on experience.
  • Full-time W-2 position. Year-round pay structure, including paid travel rotations, company-arranged flights and hotels, paid meals while traveling,
  • Medical and dental
  • 401(k)
  • Paid time off.
Why Tryst Hotels

Carpenters at Tryst get to help build more than rooms and finishes. They help create the physical experience of a brand that stands out in hospitality. The projects are fast-moving, the destinations are exciting, and the company is growing aggressively, which means strong opportunities for the right people. If you want variety, travel, and work that directly shapes guest-facing spaces, Tryst offers a compelling next step.
