Work Environment

As a Physical Therapy Assistant at True North Medical Institute, you will work onsite in a state-of-the-art hospital facility. Your typical workweek will be Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a healthy work-life balance. Key Responsibilities
  • Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing patient care plans specific to individual recovery goals.
  • Conduct routine patient evaluations and monitor progress, documenting findings accurately in our electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Utilize therapeutic modalities, manual therapy techniques, and exercises to help rehabilitate patients effectively.
  • Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises, lifestyle modifications, and strategies to prevent re-injury.
  • Participate in team meetings and case discussions with physical therapists and other healthcare professionals to enhance patient care strategies.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, ensuring that rehabilitation equipment is functional and sanitized.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patients primarily include individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, injuries, and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. As a PTA, you will work closely with a diverse patient population, from athletes to elderly individuals, each requiring tailored rehabilitation programs. Your role is crucial in fostering their recovery and enhancing their quality of life through proactive and empathetic care.

Qualifications
  • A valid and current license as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of Nevada or eligible for state licensure.
  • An educational background in physical therapy, ideally holding an associate's degree; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of rehabilitation principles, therapeutic exercises, biomechanics, and manual therapy techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
  • Demonstrated empathy and compassion in patient care.
  • Organizational skills to manage patient documentation and follow-up effectively.
Preferred Experience
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in a rehabilitative care setting.
  • Experience with sports medicine, post-operative rehabilitation, or performance training.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems and outcome tracking tools to enhance patient care.
  • Interest or certification in orthopedic clinical specialty (OCS) is advantageous.
