You could book the sale immediately, but instead, you choose to spend extra time gently redirecting their focus toward long-term peace and co-parenting stability, ensuring the client we onboard is truly aligned with firm values and reducing conflict down the line.

• Proactive Communication: The new client hires us. Instead of just sending a boilerplate Notice of Appearance, you take five minutes to pick up the phone and introduce yourself to the opposing paralegal or counsel. You choose to set a positive, cooperative human tone right at the outset, knowing it prevents weeks of unnecessary adversarial friction later.

• Constructive Communication: Three months in, you are reviewing a case summary. You notice a phrase that unnecessarily criticizes the opposing party's personal life.
