Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Trillium Therapy Group, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough evaluations to assess the intensity, frequency, and duration of clients' mood disorder symptoms.

  • Collaborating with clients to create personalized treatment plans that address individual needs, aspirations, and preferences.

  • Employing evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to facilitate client progress.

  • Providing education and support to clients and their families about mood disorders, treatment options, and effective self-care practices.

  • Monitoring client progress and adapting treatment plans based on ongoing assessments and feedback.

  • Coordinating care with psychiatrists and other healthcare providers to ensure an integrated approach to mental health treatment.

  • Staying abreast of the latest research and advancements in mood disorder treatment to ensure the highest quality of care.

  • Maintaining detailed and confidential records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.

  • Actively participating in case consultations, team meetings, and professional development opportunities to bolster your skill set.

  • Advocating for clients and contributing to reducing mental health stigma within the community.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your therapeutic efforts will primarily focus on clients dealing with mood disorders, which may include depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and other related conditions. You will engage with diverse individuals seeking support and will tailor your therapeutic approach to meet the nuanced needs of each client, fostering a trusting and empathetic therapeutic relationship.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following:

  • A valid and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

  • A Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field.

  • Proficient communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport and establish trust with clients.

  • An empathetic and nonjudgmental approach toward clients’ experiences and challenges.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to effectively manage client caseload and administrative requirements.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, the following experiences are desirable:

  • Demonstrable experience working with clients experiencing mood disorders.

  • Familiarity with the latest therapeutic interventions and research addressing mood disorders.

  • Previous work in a collaborative team-based setting is advantageous.
