Description

Trident Seafoods is North America's largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company. Trident is a privately held, 100 percent USA-owned company with global operations in 6 countries and serves customers in almost 60 countries. Headquartered in Seattle, Washington (USA), Trident employs approximately 7,700 people worldwide each year and partners with over 2,700 independent fishermen and crewmembers in Alaska. Trident catches and processes virtually every commercial species of salmon, whitefish, and crab harvested in the North Pacific and Alaska. The global supply chain also encompasses cultured and wild species sourced from an international network of trusted suppliers.

Summary: Supervises and coordinates activities of employees engaged in dock activities which include unloading/loading of vessels, barges, and skiffs. Inspects shipments for proper quantity and quality. Coordinates and directs employee in pumping operations of fishing vessels.

Note: Dock Foreperson I residing in Trident housing will be subject to a co-pay of fifteen dollars per day for room and board, for each day that at least 8 hours of work is offered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operates fish pumps.
  • Manages dock crew.
  • Trains dock staff to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Tallies all incoming and outgoing freight and product. Recording weights, box counts, parcels accurately.
  • Coordinates, prioritizes, supervises, and assists with loading/unloading activities.
  • Provides accurate tally sheets, receiving reports, and movement sheets.
  • Ensures dock operations meet environmental and safety regulations and policies.
  • Responsible for overseeing dock maintenance and repair.
  • Responds to change productively and handles other duties as required.
  • Continual follows Company policies and procedures.
  • Assists in scheduling fish deliveries and all related regulatory reporting requirements.

Additional Responsibilities:

* Acquires knowledge of Trident's Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.* Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.

Employees working in Alaska are advised to have medical insurance coverage which is valid in the State of Alaska.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

* Must be a current Trident Seafoods employee or have worked for Trident Seafoods before* A minimum of 2 years of experience

Preferred Qualifications:

* HS Diploma or equivalent* Forklift Certification
