Job description

We're Not Looking for a Note-Taker. We're Looking for Someone Who Can Run Our Schedule.

  • If you need someone else to tell you what's urgent today, this is probably not for you.
  • If you've been the person everyone comes to when they need something organized, fast, and handled — read on.

Tree Health Management is the leading arboriculture company in Wisconsin — tree preservation, risk assessment, inventories, diagnosis, the whole picture. Our crews are out across southcentral WI every day, and the thing that keeps them moving is a schedule that actually works.

That's the job. You own it.

We are motivated to find the right person for this role — and are willing to negotiate compensation based on experience.

What You'll Do

  • Build and maintain the daily and weekly production schedule for tree care, plant health care, planting, and related field work
  • Schedule crews around job requirements, availability, equipment, location, and season
  • Communicate schedule changes clearly — to crews and to management
  • Adjust on the fly when weather, staffing, or equipment throws a wrench in the plan
  • Flag conflicts and staffing needs before they become problems
  • Keep the schedule current in company software and calendars
  • Coordinate onboarding, new-hire paperwork, and employee records
  • Track certifications, licenses, and training requirements
  • Assist with recruiting, job postings, and interview scheduling
  • Maintain PTO, attendance, and personnel records
  • Serve as the go-to for routine employee HR questions

You'll make calls. You'll keep a moving operation on track. You'll be trusted to handle it.

What We Expect

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to run your own area without hand-holding
  • Comfortable making decisions and solving scheduling problems as they come up
  • Clear, professional communicator with both field crews and management
  • Able to hold employees accountable to procedures
  • Understands the weight of confidentiality with employee information
  • Proficient with email, calendars, spreadsheets, and office software
  • Previous HR, scheduling, or workforce/operations coordination experience strongly preferred
  • Tree care, landscaping, construction, or trades experience is a plus, not a requirement

If you need constant direction or lose track of details when things change fast, this role won't be a good fit.

Why It's Worth It

  • Ownership — this schedule runs through you, and everyone knows it
  • Trust — you'll be a real part of the management and operations team
  • Flexibility — approximately 15–25 hours a week, with more available in busy season

Compensation: $26.00–$38.00/hour, based on experience.
