Job description

Specific Job Functions:

  • Solicit and procure wedding groups as well as corporate, association, and incentive accounts in accordance with established marketing profiles and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Execute pre-qualification and rate negotiations, establish files, issue contracts, process bookings and appropriate follow-up correspondence with clients
  • Maintain frequent contact with established and prospective clients.
  • Service definite bookings including processing rooming lists, collecting payment, processing credit applications, creating and distributing resumes and appropriate follow-up correspondence with clients and other hotel departments.
  • Represent the property at trade shows, presentations and sales trips.
  • Continuing education and management training through programs provided by the property.
  • Meet established individual and team sales goals.
  • Assist in creating programs to improve convention groups room sales and to target soft and off-peak periods.
  • Perform all duties as deemed necessary for the success of the department.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required. College degree in Hotel Management, Marketing, or Business Administration preferred.
  • Three years of Hotel Sales experience required.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel required with a working knowledge of Ivvy preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Basic knowledge of office equipment is preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License is required.
