Job description

Transylvania University invites applications for the full-time position of Assistant Field Hockey Coach. Transylvania, founded in 1780, is the nation's 16th oldest institution of higher learning and is consistently ranked in national publications as one of the top liberal arts colleges in the country. Transylvania is located blocks from downtown Lexington, KY, in central Kentucky. Transylvania is a proud member of NCAA Division III.
Job Description
The Assistant Field Hockey Coach will assist the head coach in the management and coaching of an NCAA Division III field hockey program. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting with operations management (e.g., program development, schedule, camps, marketing, and public relations), recruiting, assisting with office needs, overseeing and planning the development of the offensive and defensive systems and other secondary duties as assigned. This position requires frequent travel; work in the evenings, on weekends and holidays. Secondary duties will include event management/sports information. This is a full-time nine-month appointment.
Candidates must have a bachelor's degree (master's degree preferred) and either collegiate playing experience or coaching and effective communication/organizational skills. In addition, candidates should have an athletics philosophy compatible with a Division III liberal arts college with highly selective academic standards.
