Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed mental health assessments for children and adolescents to identify their unique needs and challenges.
  • Design and implement tailored treatment plans that take into account the individual’s developmental stage and family dynamics.
  • Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as cognitive-behavioral therapy and play therapy to effectively address diverse mental health issues.
  • Facilitate family therapy sessions to educate and empower parents and caregivers in fostering a supportive living environment.
  • Collaborate with child psychiatrists and other professionals to ensure a holistic, integrated approach to patient care.
  • Provide crisis intervention support, ensuring young patients receive immediate assistance during mental health emergencies.
  • Maintain precise and confidential documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems effectively.
  • Engage in continuous professional development through team meetings, case consultations, and staying updated on advancements in child and adolescent mental health.
Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Mental Health Therapist at Tranquil Talk Therapy, you will primarily work with children and adolescents dealing with a spectrum of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral disorders. Your role is crucial in offering therapeutic support to young individuals and their families, guiding them through their mental health journeys.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT in the state of Illinois.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of child and adolescent mental health disorders, along with evidence-based therapeutic modalities.
  • Experience providing therapeutic interventions and family-centric care to children and teens.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, along with a compassionate, child-centered approach to therapy.
  • Proficient in utilizing electronic health record systems and digital communication tools.
  • A strong capability to establish trust and rapport with young clients and their families, promoting an environment of safety and understanding.
Preferred Experience
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a mental health counseling role, particularly focused on child and adolescent populations.
  • Experience in telehealth service delivery, familiarizing with virtual engagement techniques and best practices.
  • Active participation in professional development opportunities and continuing education related to child and adolescent mental health.
Compensation and Benefits
