NDT Level II Technician 


(THIS POSITION REQUIRES YOU TO TRAVEL TO THE WORKSITE AND STAY ONSITE FOR 3-6 MONTH) Trades Resource covers mileage reimbursement, daily per diem and weekly pay.


Position Overview - Aerospace Facility


The role focuses on inspecting critical aircraft engine components using advanced Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods while working within FAA-regulated quality standards.


Schedule:

  • Shift: Monday–Friday | 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Overtime may be available based on production demands.


Daily Responsibilities:  Approximately 80% of your day will be spent performing inspections and 20% completing documentation and inspection reports.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Perform Level II Eddy Current (EC) and/or Immersion Ultrasonic (UT) inspections depending on your certifications.
  • Inspect aerospace turbine engine components for cracks, inclusions, and other discontinuities.
  • Evaluate inspection results and make independent accept/reject decisions.
  • Complete inspection documentation and generate reports using XpScan and Microsoft Excel.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and inspection procedures on a daily basis.
  • Prepare components for inspection, including safely moving parts with a hoist and performing minor cleaning when necessary.
  • Perform daily equipment verification and calibration checks after receiving OEM training.
  • Mentor and assist Level I inspectors as needed.


Equipment You'll Use: You will work with industry-leading inspection systems 

  • Motoman Eddy Current Inspection (ECI) equipment
  • Nipscan Immersion Ultrasonic (UT) systems
  • XpScan software
  • Microsoft Excel


This position supports inspection of:

  • Aircraft engine components
  • Major rotating turbine hardware
  • High-quality aerospace products built to strict regulatory standards


**The work is performed in an FAA-regulated environment where precision, documentation, and quality are critical**


Standards You'll Work Under

You will be expected to work within established aerospace and NDT specifications including:

  • NAS-410
  • ASTM E127
  • FAA Part 145 requirements
  • GE inspection specifications
  • CFM inspection specifications


This is a highly independent technical role.


You will be expected to:

  • Evaluate inspection indications independently.
  • Make accept/reject decisions for inspected components.
  • Document findings accurately.
  • Consult a Level III technician only when additional technical review is required.


Approximately 90% of inspection decisions are expected to be made independently.


Training & Support


While previous certification is required, you will receive:

  • OEM-specific training on inspection equipment.
  • Training on company inspection processes and procedures.
  • Ongoing access to a Level III resource for technical consultation when necessary.


Minimum Qualifications (Required Before Starting)


Must have:

  • Current NAS-410 Level II certification.
  • Level II certification in Eddy Current (EC) and/or Ultrasonic Testing (UT).
  • Active certifications (expired certifications cannot be accepted).
  • Aerospace NDT inspection experience.


Level III certification is highly preferred.
