Job Summary:
TradeUp Careers is partnering with an established manufacturer seeking a dependable, mechanically inclined Plastic Fabricator.
This hands-on role involves fabricating, assembling, finishing, and inspecting custom plastic components using shop equipment, hand tools, measuring instruments, and technical drawings.
Plastic fabrication experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with experience in woodworking, metal fabrication, machining, mechanical assembly, sign fabrication, or similar hands-on work are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Fabricate, assemble, finish, and inspect plastic parts
- Read shop drawings, CAD-generated prints, and work instructions
- Measure parts using tape measures, calipers, and other measuring tools
- Operate equipment such as saws, routers, drill presses, and belt sanders
- Perform cutting, drilling, routing, sanding, fitting, and assembly work
- Identify defects and assist with troubleshooting production issues
- Maintain quality, safety, and production standards
- Keep the work area clean and organized
- Assist with training less-experienced employees when appropriate
Qualifications:
- Previous manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, woodworking, metalworking, or machine-shop experience preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure
- Ability to read shop drawings or blueprints
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Dependable, self-motivated, and team-oriented
