Job Summary:
Topcon Positioning Group is headquartered in Livermore, California, and they are seeking a Senior System Test Engineer to be responsible for testing their full product line of Construction and Machine Control solutions. This role involves developing test plans, executing product validation, mentoring a team of engineers, and ensuring quality throughout the software development process.
Responsibilities:
• Developing test plans that meet new product delivery schedules.
• Author test procedures for new features and regression testing that ensure repeatable and thorough testing.
• Execute Product Validation and Verification in an efficient and effective manner.
• Mentor and develop a team of QA and System Test Engineers
• Build cross-functional relationships and champion teams to successfully deliver multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly innovative environment.
• Drive quality and compliance throughout Topcon’s software development/QA testing process and Topcon’s products.
• Manage the quality assurance of complete machine control systems including new hardware and software components designed locally and other Topcon global development offices
• Provide expertise to engineering and product development teams in all areas of software quality and identify meaningful trends and practices so products are released quickly and confidently.
• Assist in the design and implementation of policies and procedures for testing and evaluate the precision and accuracy of products and/or equipment.
• Support software development, diagnose performance issues, reproduce issues reported by customers, perform bench and field testing of software, and verification reporting.
• Provide input into technical changes to hardware and hardware development.
• Provide technical advice to Topcon staff worldwide on Topcon products.
• Analyse, recommend and implement process changes within the team to improve quality and productivity.
• Provide feedback to employees on quality and quantity of work performed.
• Ensure the required Topcon systems are setup and installed on machines, in good working order and ready for testing when required.
• Coordinate machine usage.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:
Required:
• 5 + years’ industry experience in a QA engineering test software development environment.
• Team management experience including supporting, mentoring, developing team of QA/Test Engineers
• Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams and projects.
• Knowledge in designing test tools and frameworks
• Experience in supporting, maintaining, testing and installing 3D machine control systems.
• Sound survey knowledge and understanding of GPS technology.
• Competency is operating Dozer, Grader, Excavator Skid Steer Loader is desirable.
• Degree in Surveying/Engineering/QA/related field or equivalent work experience
• Driving License
• Self-motivated and able to work without supervision.
