Position Overview

Tides Clinical Association is seeking an experienced and passionate Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our team in a full-time remote capacity. This role is primarily focused on delivering comprehensive mental health support to students and families in school settings within Bridgeport, Connecticut. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct clinical services to assigned clients, utilizing evidence-based practices to address major mental illnesses and severe emotional disorders.
  • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to achieve common goals, ensuring a holistic approach to client care.
  • Demonstrate cultural competence by respectfully engaging with clients from diverse backgrounds and adapting approaches to meet their unique needs.
  • Navigate the organizational and financial structures of Tides Clinical Association and external systems to facilitate optimal client outcomes.
  • Uphold professional ethical standards and adhere to the established codes of conduct in all interactions.
  • Continuously assess individual and team performance, embracing opportunities for skill enhancement and improved outcomes focused on client empowerment.
  • Identify and mitigate unsafe situations, committing to maintaining a safe environment for all clients.
  • Conduct initial assessments and screenings, preparing detailed evaluations when necessary, and develop integrated care plans in collaboration with clients and families.
  • Offer a range of intervention services, including individual, group, and family therapy, that align with client needs and goals.
  • Support clients through crisis interventions as required, effectively managing urgent needs and providing timely follow-up care.
  • Maintain organized records of client meetings, treatment plans, and progress reports, ensuring timely completion of documentation and data submissions.
  • Occasionally provide on-call coverage during and after regular program hours as needed.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives, contributing ideas and participating in committees to enhance service delivery across the organization.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The LCSW will work primarily with adolescents and families in the Bridgeport school system, addressing a spectrum of mental health challenges. Many students may experience anxiety, depression, trauma, and other emotional disturbances that affect their educational experience and overall well-being. The ideal candidate will engage with these individuals in a manner that fosters trust and encourages openness, pivotal in crafting effective treatment plans that promote healing and academic success.

Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or a related field is required.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Connecticut is mandatory.
  • Expertise in assessment, diagnosis, and crisis management specific to assigned populations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, critical for effective interaction with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and competency in managing caseloads and administrative responsibilities.
  • Some familiarity with age-related issues and developmental considerations is essential for supporting the targeted demographic.
Preferred Experience
  • A minimum of two years of clinical experience, preferably within school settings or with children and adolescents.
  • Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are highly preferred, enhancing our ability to serve diverse communities effectively.
Compensation and Benefits
