Job description

Position Summary
A market-leading supplier of specialty products supporting a nationwide customer base
is seeking a high-impact Senior Procurement Manager to join its leadership team in
Binghamton, NY.


The organization operates with a broad market reach and leverages bi-coastal
distribution operations to ensure fast, reliable delivery across the U.S. It has built a
strong reputation for product breadth, service quality, and operational excellence within
its market.


The Senior Procurement Manager is responsible for full ownership of an assigned product
segment, including strategic sourcing, supplier management, product expansion, and
overall margin performance.


This is a highly visible role reporting directly to the President, with significant influence
over product strategy, vendor relationships, and business growth. The ideal candidate
will operate at both a strategic and hands-on level, driving initiatives that improve
profitability, expand product offerings, and strengthen supplier partnerships.


Key Responsibilities to include:
 Manage supplier relationships, driving cost reduction initiatives, negotiating
contracts, and rationalizing current supplier base.
 Support quality measurement systems, including feedback mechanisms and
continuous improvements within the product base.
 Set quality standards for supplier products and delivery, and direct efforts for
alternate sources of supply.
 Manage import compliances.
 Research and analyze data on current and new products.
 Work closely with purchasing, marketing, technical, and distribution departments.


Required Qualifications
 Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field, or equivalent combination of
education and relevant experience.
 10+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, and/or category management.

 Experience with domestic and international sourcing.
 Proven ability to negotiate effectively and drive cost savings/margin
improvement.
 Highly analytical with advanced Excel skills.
 Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple
priorities.
 Ability to operate in a hands-on, high-volume, and fast-paced environment.
