DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leads all accounting operations for Thrivent Bank, including general ledger,monthendandquarterendclose, financial reporting,callreportingand balance sheet governance.
Ensures the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial statementsin accordance withU.S. GAAP, regulatory requirements, and Thrivent accounting policies.
Overseesinternal controls over financial reporting, including documentation, testing support, issue remediation, and continuous improvement of control effectiveness.
Serves as a key partner to Risk, Compliance, Internal Audit, and externalauditors;coordinates audits, examinations, and regulatory requests.
Providestechnicalaccounting guidance on new products, transactions, system changes, and business initiatives, ensuringappropriate accountingtreatment and risk mitigation.
Partners with Treasury, FP&A, and business leaders to support forecasting, capital planning, liquidity reporting, and strategicdecisionmaking.
Leads, coaches, and develops ahighperformingaccounting team;establishesclear expectations, builds capability, and ensuresappropriate successionplanning.
Drives process standardization, automation, and continuous improvement to improve efficiency, scalability, and data quality.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, ora relatedfield.
CPArequired.
10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roleswithin banking or financial services.
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.
Demonstrated experience leadingmonthendclose, audits, and regulatory interactions.
Proven ability to lead, develop, andretainhighperformingteams.
Strong judgment, attention to detail, and ability to navigate complex issues with sound recommendations
Preferred:
Experience in a regulated banking environment.
Prior experience partnering with regulators, external auditors, and enterprise risk teams.
Experience with system implementations, accounting automation, or process transformation initiatives.
Advanced degree (MBA orMaster's in Accounting).
