Center for Gerontology Project Coordinator Job DescriptionConcordia University Chicago (CUC) invites applications for the part-time, grant funded position of Project Coordinator for the Center for Gerontology. This position reports directly to the Director of Operations of the Center for Gerontology and to the Dean of the College of Health, Science & Technology, and is located in River Forest, IL. The initial appointment will end on December 31, 2026, the end of the current grant year. Appointment renewal for the following grant year will be based upon available grant funding and performance. Responsibilities/Duties:Collaborates with the Director of Operations of the Center for Gerontology and project leaders to advance the day-to-day activities of the CenterCollaborates with internal and external partners to bring Center projects and funded deliverables to fruition in alignment with strategic priority areasEngages with faculty, university administration, students and the community to champion Center for Gerontology efforts and identify interdisciplinary and interagency opportunitiesProactively coordinates schedules, reports, promotional materials, website, online and in person events, and other Center-related activities Leads development of Center's triannual newsletterPromotes the Center's mission to bolster learning and drive positive social change that improves the lives of people as they age into later lifeCandidates must support and be committed to the mission and identity of Concordia University Chicago, a university of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod (LCMS)Skill Sets:Strong administrative skills, including related computer and technology skillsSuperior verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to work with all levels of staff and administrationProficient computer and office software skills and a willingness to learn additional platforms and software programsExhibits a service mentality toward all stakeholdersAll communication with stakeholders is effective, professional, accurate, and timelyImproves work performance and that of others by being receptive to and appropriately sharing informationEnthusiastic supporter of Lutheran higher education and Concordia University ChicagoMinimum Experience Required:A minimum of 2 years' experience in project coordination or management is requiredPrevious experience in aging or gerontology related field is preferredEducation Requirements:A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required, preferably with a focus in gerontology, public health, public administration or related fieldCompensation and Benefits:Starting range is dependent upon individual qualifications and experience. Concordia retirement plan enrollment is available to part-time employees.
