Job description

CNC Thread Grinding Operator – Early 1st Shift

Tesker Manufacturing Corporation – Saukville, WI

Tesker Manufacturing Corporation is looking for a CNC Thread Grinding Operator to join our early first-shift team. This position works 4:00 AM–12:00 PM, Monday through Friday, providing a consistent full-time schedule with your afternoons free.

No previous thread grinding experience is required. We will train you on our equipment and processes. Previous machine shop or CNC machining experience is highly preferred. We are looking for someone with good mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn a specialized machining process.

For over 50 years, Tesker Manufacturing Corporation has manufactured thread rolling machines, dies, and tooling. We specialize in high-quality, close-tolerance manufacturing and primarily produce small-quantity orders, so this is not repetitive, high-volume production work. We value quality, craftsmanship, dependability, and employees who want to develop specialized skills and grow with the company.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC thread grinding machines used to manufacture precision thread rolling dies and tooling.
  • Load and properly position workpieces, tooling, fixtures, and grinding wheels.
  • Make machine and process adjustments as necessary to produce parts to specification.
  • Read and work from blueprints, routings, process sheets, and job instructions.
  • Inspect finished work to verify dimensions and quality requirements.
  • Use precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, and other inspection tools.
  • Perform close-tolerance work while maintaining consistent quality.
  • Monitor machine operation and make adjustments for changes in grinding conditions and wheel wear.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Work independently while communicating with other machinists and supervisors as needed.
Qualifications
  • No previous thread grinding experience required – we will provide training.
  • Previous machine shop or CNC machining experience is highly preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand basic machining dimensions and tolerances.
  • Familiarity with micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Dependable and comfortable working an early-morning schedule.
  • Willingness to learn a specialized machining process.
Schedule

Monday–Friday, 4:00 AM–12:00 PM

No rotating shifts. Consistent weekday schedule with afternoons available.

Compensation

$25–$30 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Employees are also eligible for a yearly productivity bonus, historically generally $3,000–$5,000.

Benefits

Tesker offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Tesker pays 70% of insurance premiums
  • Flexible spending account
  • Group term life insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan with 3% employer match
  • Annual productivity bonus
