Your Role and Responsibilities
  • Performing thorough patient evaluations, ordering necessary diagnostic tests, and creating tailored healthcare plans
  • Diagnosing and managing a range of acute, chronic, or episodic conditions, collaborating with physicians or independently based on your qualifications
  • Providing education to patients and families regarding wellness, prevention, and disease care
  • Prescribing necessary medications and therapies as permitted
  • Engaging in patient follow-ups and managing chronic illnesses
  • Joining forces with interdisciplinary teams to ensure well-rounded, integrated care
  • Accurately documenting care in electronic health records (EHR)
Education and Credentials Needed
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
  • Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner training program
Necessary Certifications
  • Valid Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Alaska
  • National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP, or ANCC) or equivalent specialty certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or willingness to achieve within 90 days)
