Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled and safety‑driven Welder to join our Maintenance team at Third Coast. Under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager, this role plays a critical part in supporting our operations by performing high‑quality welding, fabrication, and metalwork across a variety of structures and systems. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, a commitment to excellence, and a dedication to practicing the Third Coast Way fundamental behaviors in every task. Position SummaryUnder the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Welder’s main task is to:
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Welding using Mig, Tig and Stick
- Weld structures, piping, and general welding of anything.
- Plan work by interpreting blueprint
- Determine welding position and type of metal welded.
- Select and set up welding equipment.
- Ensure welds meet standards and specifications.
- Use plasma to cut and trim metal objects.
- Exhibit and practices the Third Coast Way fundamental behaviors. Knowledge and Skills:
- AWS certified welder
- Minimum 3G plate test unless specifies are listed.
- Able to follow all safety rule and procedures. Work Experience:
- Five years welding experience required. Skills and Competencies:
- Able to read and interpret WPS (Welding Procedure specification) and PQR
- Knowledge of our quality policy and objectives Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to use their hands to handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
- The team member frequently is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- The team member is occasionally required to sit.
- The team member must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift 25
(Procedure Qualification Record)
pounds and occasionally move or manipulate drums weighing between 200-500 pounds.
