Work Environment

The role is based onsite at our hospital facility in Sandy, Oregon, where you will work closely with a team of licensed physical therapists, doctors, and nursing staff in a dynamic and supportive environment. The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art therapy equipment, allowing you to utilize advanced modalities to enhance treatment outcomes for our residents. Our typical schedule runs from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a structured work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising licensed Physical Therapist, focusing on enhancing residents’ mobility, strength, balance, and functional abilities.
• Regularly assess and monitor residents' progress, documenting changes and providing detailed feedback during team meetings to inform ongoing treatment planning.
• Provide compassionate, hands-on care during therapy sessions while encouraging and motivating residents throughout their rehabilitation journey.
• Educate residents and their families on the importance of mobility techniques, safety protocols, and home exercises to support recovery and independence.
• Maintain accurate and thorough records of therapy sessions, adhering to state regulations and Medicare guidelines to ensure compliance and quality of care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams that may include occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and nursing personnel to create a cohesive and comprehensive approach to each resident's care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on our senior residents, many of whom may be facing challenges related to mobility due to aging, surgery recovery, chronic pain, or neurological conditions. By providing tailored therapy solutions, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on their rehabilitation journey, helping them regain their independence and improve their overall quality of life.

Qualifications

• Possession of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Active Oregon PTA license or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• CPR/BLS certification is required, or a willingness to obtain certification prior to starting.
• Strong communication skills to foster positive relationships with residents, families, and team members.
• A team-oriented mindset with a passion for improving the lives of seniors is essential.

Preferred Experience

• At least 2 years of previous experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant, preferably in geriatrics, assisted living, or skilled nursing settings.
• Familiarity with the unique needs and challenges faced by the senior population, particularly those requiring rehabilitation services.
• Experience using electronic health record systems for documenting therapy sessions, treatment plans, and patient progress.

Compensation and Benefits

• Competitive salary ranging from $60,000 to $75,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
