Advertising Sales, TheHomeMag Austin: build a book that renews

TheHomeMag is hiring an experienced advertising sales professional to succeed in the Austin market. This is a hunter role for someone who finds their own business and turns first meetings into long-term clients. If you know how to open a door cold and keep an account for years, read on.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

You will own the accounts you sell in the greater Austin metro, a fast-growing market with a deep bench of contractors and home-services businesses. You sell them print and digital advertising and embark on a long-term relationship. You will prospect every day, set your own meetings, and build a book of advertisers who renew because the product works and they trust you. You work from home and from the field, backed by TheHomeMag, a modern CRM, and AI tools that take the busywork off your plate so you can spend your time selling.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Prior media or advertising sales experience is strongly preferred. You already have a system for finding new clients and you do not wait for leads. You are comfortable opening a conversation cold, in person or on the phone. You keep your pipeline current and log your work, and you play the long game: you win business by earning trust, not by chasing a single close.

WHAT YOU WILL EARN

$80,000 to $120,000 in on-target earnings (OTE), uncapped. This is a commission-based role: that range reflects target earning potential for a successful Media Advisor, not guaranteed pay, and your actual earnings depend on your performance. To make sure you are supported while you build your book, a market guarantee gives you an income floor for your first months and then steps down in stages as your commissions grow, so you are paid while you ramp and out-earn that floor once you are rolling. You also receive a monthly gas and phone allowance, paid on top of your commission.
