Job description

Our client, a women's denim brand that sells exclusively to specialty stores is seeking a full-time, in-house denim designer. In the position you would be responsible for supporting the design, development and to execute seasonal concepts and product strategies while maintaining alignment with brand identity, customer needs, market trends, and business objectives. This role partners closely with the Associate Design Director for Women’s Denim. This requires you to be on site daily in the Vernon area.


The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of women’s denim design, garment construction, fit, wash development, and trend relevance, while demonstrating strong organizational skills, creative problem-solving, and the ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the design and development of seasonal women’s collections across denim and non-denim bottoms.
  • Partner with the Associate Design Director for Women’s Denim to execute seasonal trends and concepts, color direction, fabrications, washes, fits, and styling details aligned with brand vision.
  • Conduct ongoing trend, market, and competitive research to identify product opportunities and emerging consumer preferences.
  • Create detailed sketches, CADs, presentation boards, and technical design packages.
  • Develop and maintain styles from initial concept through sample approval while ensuring design intent is maintained throughout development.
  • Partner closely with Product Development and Technical Design teams to support fit sessions, construction refinement, wash development, and production execution.
  • Maintain organization and accuracy across PLM systems, BOM’s, tech packs, wash pages, line sheets, seasonal boards, and design documentation.
  • Support fabric, trim, wash, and vintage inspiration sourcing.
  • Contribute to seasonal presentations, milestone meetings, and product reviews.
  • Manage workload and calendar deliverables to support seasonal deadlines and cross-functional workflow.


Required Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of apparel design experience, preferably within women’s contemporary denim category.
  • Strong understanding of women’s denim fits, fabrications, wash techniques, garment construction, and finishing details.
  • Strong design sensibility with the ability to balance trend relevance and commerciality.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator and Photoshop. Knowledge of Miro program a +
  • Experience creating technical flats, CADs, tech packs, and line sheets.
  • Experience working within PLM systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced creative environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, or related field
  • Experience within contemporary, premium denim, or lifestyle brands preferred
  • Strong understanding of market trends, wash development, and fabric innovation
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office, and standard business software
