Our client is seeking a Patient Access Representative to support a positive and efficient patient experience from first contact through registration. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate patient information, smooth intake processes, and clear communication across departments while delivering friendly, patient-focused service. This is an onsite position based in Fairfield County, CT>
Patient Access Representative's Responsibilities and Duties
- Accurately register patients by entering and verifying demographic and insurance information in accordance with departmental standards
- Provide coverage support for daily registration operations as needed
- Guide patients through the intake process with professionalism, empathy, and efficiency
- Serve as a patient advocate by identifying insurance coverage options and assisting with third-party payer coordination
- Collect co-pays, deductibles, and self-pay balances in a timely and courteous manner
Patient Access Representative's Qualifications and Skills
- Two years of college coursework or equivalent experience in a healthcare environment
- Strong computer skills with a minimum typing speed of 50 words per minute
- Working knowledge of health insurance terminology, eligibility, and policies
- Familiarity with clinical terminology is a plus
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and the public
