About The Moore

The Moore is a landmark destination in the Miami Design District, comprised of a private members club, hotel and a collection of restaurants, retail, exhibition, event and office space. Housed in the District's circa-1922 Moore building, the reimagined, nearly 90,000-square-foot space integrates two, four-story structures located at the intersection of NE 40th Street and NE 2nd Avenue, and includesElastika, the site-specific commission created by the late artist and architect Zaha Hadid for the inaugural Design Miami/ exhibition in 2005.

The redevelopment of The Moore is led by boutique hospitality firm and operator, WoodHouse. Founded by entrepreneur Brady Wood, WoodHouse creates, owns and operates experiential concepts, ranging from private clubs, restaurants and hotels to live music and entertainment venues.

Position Overview

At The Roof at The Moore, a Host is an integral part of creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our guests. You will be the first point of contact for guests, greeting them with a friendly smile and providing exceptional hospitality from the moment they arrive.

Responsibilities:

• Warmly greet guests upon their arrival, offering a friendly smile and a personalized and memorable first impression.
• Manage the seating and reservation system efficiently, ensuring accurate seating arrangements and timely table turnovers.
• Effectively communicate with guests to understand their seating preferences, special requests, and any specific needs.
• Provide accurate wait time estimates and maintain an organized list during peak hours.
• Collaborated closely with the server team to coordinate seating and ensure a smooth flow of guests throughout the restaurant.
• Maintain a clean and organized host area, including tidying up tables, managing coat check, and keeping the entrance welcoming and presentable.
• Monitor the dining room are to ensure all guests are attended to promptly and any potential issues are addressed proactively.
• Handle guest inquiries and concerns with professionalism and escalate issues to management when necessary.
• Collaborate effectively with other hosts and team members to ensure seamless transitions between shifts and effective communication.
• Willingness to come early to shift to attend all Pre-shifts.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Host or in a customer service role is preferred.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Positive attitude and a genuine passion for providing excellent hospitality.
• Flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
• Basic computer skills to manage reservation systems and communicate effectively.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and move around the restaurant to assist guests.
• At least 18 years old.
