Job description

LAB is a youth movement program designed to help kids build confidence, coordination, strength, and resilience through ninja-style obstacle training and structured coaching. Whether you have experience in sports, gymnastics, martial arts, parkour, or you're simply eager to learn, we provide the training and systems needed to succeed.

As a Youth Sports Coach, you’ll bring energy, encouragement, and structure to every class. You’ll help lead safe, engaging training sessions while supporting athletes as they build skills, confidence, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead or assist youth ninja and movement-based classes for athletes of different ages and skill levels
  • Create a high-energy, structured class environment where athletes stay engaged and excited to learn
  • Teach proper technique, provide spotting, and ensure a safe training environment
  • Build positive relationships with athletes and communicate with parents before or after class about progress and experience
  • Encourage athletes to invite friends and help grow strong, full classes
  • Maintain a clean, organized training space and assist with equipment setup and breakdown
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of movement progressions and adapt activities for different skill levels
  • Support teammates by helping with class transitions, covering shifts when needed, and assisting during busy rotations
  • Help coach camps, field trips, and special events while maintaining the same energy, safety, and leadership expected in regular classes
  • Represent LAB with professionalism by arriving prepared, communicating clearly, and contributing to a positive team culture

Requirements

  • Minimum age: 16 years old
  • Experience working with children preferred
  • Background in sports, gymnastics, martial arts, parkour, or fitness helpful but not required
  • CPR / First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)

Work Schedule & Environment

  • Part-time afternoon, evening, and weekend shifts available
  • Classes take place in an indoor training facility with frequent interaction with children and families
  • Consistent weekly availability preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to demonstrate physical movements and actively participate in classes
  • Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, and spotting athletes
  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 25 lbs
  • Comfortable working in an active, fast-paced environment
