Make a Real Difference Every Day! Join the League of Extraordinary Providers.

Are you fun, outgoing, and passionate about empowering others? The Independence League is looking for dynamic individuals like you to join our licensed provider agency! As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you’ll be on the front lines of community inclusion, helping individuals across Multnomah, Clackamas, and Washington Counties live their best, most independent lives.

This isn’t just a job—it’s an opportunity to spark joy and foster growth. You’ll implement individualized supports (Attendant Care, Skills Training, and Day Support) that maximize independence and self-esteem for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).

Duties

No two days are the same! Your role is packed with variety and purpose, including:

1. Empowering clients with daily life: From budgeting and meal planning to hygiene and household chores. You’re the guide for community integration and behavior supports.

2. Capturing the impact: Produce high-quality, professional documentation of your life-changing services within 24 hours.

3. Growing together: Participate in exciting meetings and trainings. We offer flexible scheduling, with occasional evening, weekend, or overnight adventures to meet client needs.

4. Maintaining Excellence: Uphold professional boundaries and confidentiality while providing respectful, person-centered support in alignment with ISPs and TIL standards.

5. Staying Sharp: Commit to 12-24 hours of annual in-service training, including mandatory abuse reporter training.

6. Safety First: Keep your life-saving skills current with CPR and First Aid training every 2 years.

Professional Expectations:

  • Champion inclusion, self-determination, and growth for every individual.
  • Bring a patient, insightful, and compassionate heart to your daily work.
  • Build professional, positive relationships with clients, families, and our community.

Required Skills

  • A deep appreciation for diversity and the unique strengths of our clients.
  • Killer interpersonal skills—you’re a communication pro.
  • Rock-solid judgment and the confidence to make independent decisions.
  • On the move: Ability to transport individuals via vehicle or public transit.
  • Cleared for takeoff: Must pass a DHS background check.
  • Certified: CPR/FA certification (required within 90 days).

Compensation

  • Competitive Pay: $21.00 - $24.00/hour (based on your experience!)
  • Expense Bonus: An extra $1.00 for every billable hour worked.
  • Road Perks: Full mileage reimbursement.
  • Total Wellness: Medical, Dental, and Retirement plans available.
  • Time for You: Generous PTO (earn 1 hour for every 30 worked).
