The Heritage Inn is looking for skilled individuals that want to grow in the food service industry. This role helps create a warm dining experience by serving food that is fresh, flavorful, and made with care. The cook position is the critical puzzle piece that connects the residents, guests and staff through delicious and nutritious food. Collaborate with our nutritionists and healthcare professionals to provide special diets and comforting classics. At The Heritage Inn you are encouraged to show a creative side to food. Cook and present dishes that reflect seasonal freshness and are appealing to the senses.

Responsibilities:

Prepare, serve and handle food in accordance with federal and state regulations and the resident policies and procedures.

Assist in the receiving, rotation and storage of products

Assist with inventory and the ordering needs

Store food properly and safely

Ensure compliance with HACCP and local health departments regulations

VA food handlers’ compliance

Assist with menu building

Help to plan and execute special events

Maintain a clean, sanitized and organized kitchen

Promote a safe kitchen work environment

Confidence in food preparation and presentation

Other duties as assigned
