Overview

The Condado Collection is a collection of hospitality properties in Puerto Rico ranging from classic and modern luxury full-service hotels, to fine dining and entertainment.

The Condado Vanderbilt is the standard of excellence and luxury resort hotels in San Juan and The Caribbean. Originally built in 1919 and restored to its distinguished grandeur, offers unsurpassed cuisine, exquisite rooms and suites, and highly personalized service. Key Responsibilities
  • Set-up station properly and on time for each service period.
  • Make sure all food is prepared by recipes designated by the supervisor.
  • Make sure food quality and quantity is correct.
  • Cook food and prepare top-quality menu items in a timely manner according to recipes/menu.
  • After service, clean preparation areas, such as equipment, work surfaces, and serving areas, to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices.
  • Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock.
  • Ensure food is stored and cooked at the correct temperature by regulating the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
  • Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience.
  • Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes. 
  • Understands the impact of kitchen operation on the overall property financial goals and objectives.
  • Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions to the manager.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support the team to reach common goals.
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards. 
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by the manager.
Qualifications
  • Hospitality oriented.
  • Previous experience as a cook in a restaurant or hotel, preferred. 
  • Must be able to bend, squat, stand for long periods, stretch, reach overhead and below the knees. Able to lift-up to 60 pounds.
  • Able to handle difficult situations effectively.
  • Technical culinary knowledge.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must possess good communication skills in Spanish and English.
